Since the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center initiative launched in Port Washington in the summer of 2015, more than 4,800 children, adolescents, and their supportive caregivers have received services. The launch of this endeavor represented a strengthened commitment to collaborative, trauma-informed services for families in Ozaukee and Washington counties. The Lakeshore CAC service area expanded to include Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties in 2017 and 2020, respectively, extending access to comprehensive child advocacy services throughout the region.

In September 2017, the LRCAC opened its first stand-alone Child Advocacy Center in Saukville, where it has continuously provided its full array of services, including forensic interviews, family advocacy, medical services, mental health coordination, and multidisciplinary team support. As demand for services grew throughout the region, the LRCAC opened a satellite location within the Sheboygan Police Department in October 2020 to better serve children and families in Sheboygan County.

Building on that success, the LRCAC opened a full-service Child Advocacy Center in Sheboygan in January 2025, while continuing operations at its Saukville location. The Sheboygan center is the 16th Child Advocacy Center in Wisconsin and has already served more than 500 children, adolescents, and their supportive caregivers. Together, the Saukville and Sheboygan locations ensure that children and families throughout the region have access to safe, accessible, trauma-informed services close to home.
